And you just thought you were alone in the house!

In the beginning stages of a haunting sometimes the signs of paranormal activities can be more complicated to recognize.
More often than not, whether you have just moved into a new home or you have lived at the same location all of your life, a spirit can sit dormant for years & never make itself known or we are so set in our beliefs that we simply ignore the signs!

Resent studies have shown that 90% of non believers in the paranormal will brush off even the most noticeable signs of paranormal activity as a natural occurrence. The remaining 10% stated that they started taking notice after the activity became consistent. The types of activities we are speaking of are: doors opening & closing, items being lost then found in the same location they were when they went missing, hearing strange noises/voices in the home.  Hearing voices doesn't necessarily mean you are a schizophrenic although we often recommend a medical evaluation to rule out any medical condition that might be causing possible hallucinations.

 How many times have you been sitting at home alone or out somewhere secluded & have the strange feeling someone is there with you, watching you, or feel something touch you but nothing will be there when you look? These are just some of the most common activities that people ignore. For example, the feeling that something or someone touched you... most people brush this off as a bug or a cobweb that they may have walked into. Unless it's just an evil entity scratching you or knocking you on your tail, it's very easy to brush it off as nothing. This usually continues until they finally realize what they are experiencing is
paranormal activity!

Peripheral Vision
Seeing an object/shadow out of the corner of your eye, then when you turn you head to make eye contact only to discover nothing there is very common, & it's also a very commonly missed piece of paranormal activity that we neglect to realize.  Again, recent studies show that when people see something out of their peripheral vision & turn to make eye contact with the subject & nothing's there, 20% out of 100 people think they're just seeing things, 73% believe it was just an insect or catching a glimpse of their own shadow, or believe it was possibly an animal or something in the general area where they had just seen it.  5% believed it may have been paranormal, while the remaining 2% were clueless as to what we were asking.
Studies have also shown that when you think you see something through your peripheral vision, 100% of the time you are!
Remember we're not just seeing things! So next time you think you see a shadow or an object through your peripherals,
PAY ATTENTION to it.
The next time this happens angle your head just enough to see it clearly. Try to get out of the habit of whipping your head around to make that direct eye contact & you will end up seeing the object for a much longer period of time.
So from now on, start paying attention to the little things that you used to brush off as natural occurrences.

Causes of hauntings

Remodeling the home/building, the area it was built was once a battle or burial ground, someone was killed or died at the location, dabbling in Satanism, voodoo, witchcraft, Ouija boards, or Se'ances, or just picking up an attachment or a dreadful generational curse to just name a few!
 
My team of professional paranormal investigators have investigated many cases where a family or a business owner will call & explain that they have either just started or have been for several months experiencing unexplained phenomena. Some simply claim they had recently remodeled the home or building. This often happens with older homes & buildings, but it can also happen at any given home or location at any given time. Some explain they were messing in things of the dark; some say they had someone move into their home when the activity started & so on! Some hauntings can be just a residual, some an intelligent, some a poltergeist, or even a demonic!
 
This is just a drop in the bucket of some of the things that can cause a haunting. So whether or not the home or building is a new location or an old location will not make a difference!

We get calls about activity several times a week. Families or individuals usually are scared confused & seeking not only professional help with their paranormal problem but also emotional support. Everyone that calls asks for advice, wondering what they can do to help stop the activity. They're also looking for answers as to why they are having activity. There are a few things you can do to help calm the activity down, but you better know what level of haunting you are dealing with before trying anything of the such!
My simple advice to anyone who is experiencing activity is to contact a qualified paranormal organization in your area.
Make sure the team you contact is a credible team. Make sure they know what they are doing and make sure they have several in-home investigations under their belt.  Most definitely make sure they have the required contact information to a local minister in case any type of blessing is involved unless the team already has their own minister in their group.
If the team of investigators are credible, they will ask you several questions in the initial interview and ask the same questions again a couple of days later in a different order looking for consistency in your answers.
There is also a few simple questions you need to ask the team to make sure they are qualified to handle the level of haunting you are experiencing.

Questions to ask a team

• How long has your team been in this field?
• How many new members are in your group?
• How many in-home investigations have you conducted?
• What is their success rate versus failed attempts of blessing homes?
• How many investigations have they conducted that are similar to yours?
• What equipment do they use?
• How do they determine the nature/level of paranormal?
• How do they conduct the investigation?
• Do you provoke, conjure, or summons any spirits?
• Do you all use Ouija Boards or conduct Se'ances during investigations?
• If yes is answered to any of the last two questions, immediately contact a more qualified organization.
• When do they determine the appropriate time to conduct a blessing if needed?
• What is the method(s) of blessings they use?
• How do they know what method to use for an intelligent versus a demonic?
• Ask for references! Ask them if they have a website. If they have a website, ask for a direct link to it and view their website for inconsistencies in their descriptions. See if they are an established team. Ask around and see if anyone has ever heard of them. Try to make sure no members of the group are convicted child molesters or rapists. It's scary enough having someone in your home you don't know, let alone wondering if they are a pedophile & such.

Advice on what to do if necessary
There are different ways to get the activity to calm down or even stop at times.
Depending on whether or not the spirit(s) residing in the location are demonic versus intelligent to poltergeist or residual depends on whether or not you can actually calm the activity yourself. Now, if you are having demonic activity I highly recommend leaving it to a professional & seeking immediate assistance from a highly qualified minister or a paranormal organization that is qualified in handling these types of cases.
The last thing you would want to do is anger an already grumpy evil demon! But if your activity is consistent with an intelligent, then simply but firmly demand it to stop! Asking the entity what they want will sometimes increase the activity due to the spirit trying to communicate with you to show or tell you what it needs, but demanding it to stop will oftentimes work.

You can have a positive entity present or it can be a negative entity residing in your home with you. If the activity is preventing you & your family from sleeping by being active & keeping you awake, or you're experiencing a lack of sleep from fear of being attacked again,
try shift-guarding. Have an adult member of the family sleep in shifts, watching over the rest of the family while they sleep. Then switch off so that they may get a little rest until you can get a qualified group to help you. Let as much light into the home as you possibly can; pull back the curtains, raise the blinds or shades, keep your house clean & not messy, keep control of all bug infestations, roaches, spiders, ants & so on.
The saying that "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" is much more than just a myth! Keep a bible out on a table; place a few pictures of Jesus on the walls & crosses in your home. Seek God's face in all things; never doubt what He can do. Have faith & believe in Him, that He will prevail & the evil will fail! Pray daily, asking blessings for others. Be kind to one another. Bring your child up in the way that is right, & when they are old they will not depart from it. Remember that Satan is going to & fro seeking whom he may devour!
